Tracing its roots to Kanazawa's Ishikawaya Honpo, this confectionery shop opened in 1906 beside the great torii gate of Hanazono Shrine when the business expanded to Tokyo. Its namesake Hanazono Manju bean-paste buns remain a popular Shinjuku gift item.
