Founded in 1937 near Ikebukuro Station's west exit, this Japanese confectionery was reportedly a favorite of mystery novelist Edogawa Ranpo, who lived in the ward. Its signature treat is the "Ikebukuro owl" monaka, named after Toshima Ward's symbolic bird.
