Founded in 1900 by Kikumatsu Okano and renamed Ryutotei in 1902, this Western restaurant became a famous literary salon where Meiji-era writers such as Natsume Soseki gathered. It relocated to its current Nishi-Azabu address in 1969 and remains one of Tokyo's oldest operating Western restaurants.
