Founded in 1920 as an anpan (sweet bean bun) shop, Takase grew into a multi-floor bakery, confectionery, cafe, and restaurant by the mid-1930s. Located right by Ikebukuro Station's east exit, it has operated for over a century and is one of Ikebukuro's most iconic old shops.
