Founded in 1892 in Osaka as a kelp wholesaler, the shop opened its Tsukiji branch in 1927 after the Great Kanto Earthquake. It ages premium kelp varieties such as Rishiri and Ma-kombu for over a year before selling them, serving both restaurants and everyday customers.
